I really liked this. Just kind of showcases the reality of how stress can effect us.

Saturday Night Shorts: Film 23
I spent a little while looking for a horror short, and once again I found myself on the excellent ALTER YouTube channel where a thumbnail caught my eye. That thumbnail was for This Dark Thought, an animated film created in the same style as the cult classic A Scanner Darkly. I believe it's called interpolated rotoscope, and I wonder how intense that must have been for a production crew of only four people. Very cool stuff.
From what I gather This Dark Thought has very little to do with what she sees in the night sky and everything to do with a babysitter dealing with the urge to smack a crying child to make it…

HOOPTOBER 2022. (6/31)
2 ANIMATED films (1/2).watching this short animated horror film I thought this would be a sci-fi horror but was surprised when it was more realistic and simple, a film about stressful unwanted horrifying emotions and the characters struggle with a terrible thought. Beautifully animated and has a lot of suspense and anxiety in its short runtime.

Seen on ALTER: youtu.be/orTa3JCfXcE
This wouldn't happened if she had noise cancelling headphones.
Quite the build up though some wouldn't think this was a great short cause of it.
Intrusive thoughts though. That's some legit stuff.

6 min animation horror short.
Not a big fan of the animation style but the theme and how it was worked was well done and effective.

Review by Joe Wawrzyniak ★★★★
A beautifully crafted and animated six-minute short about a teenage astronomy buff who gets driven to a near breaking point by the constant wailing and crying of her newborn infant baby sister. What hits especially hard about this short is the titular dark thought about wanting to hit the baby is something we all can relate to because all of us are susceptible to caving in to intense continual pressure. If this counts as a horror short (and I think it certainly does), then it's a horror short about an all too real and commonplace everyday type of horror (child abuse of any kind is clearly no joke), which in turn gives the whole thing an extra potent and upsetting edge. Very highly recommended.

Animated short about those creeping negative thoughts that seem to come in unexpectedly and become all consuming. Builds a fair amount of dread in it's sub 7 minute run time.

Proof that stargazing and a crying baby make for an unnerving combination.
