Admissions General Information

We are pleased that you are applying for admission to Metropolitan State University of Denver. To ensure timely notification, be sure to fill out the application completely and submit all required documentation.

If you are admitted but do not choose to enroll for the stated term, your file will remain active for one year. After that time a new application, fee and required credentials must be resubmitted.

The University offers services for disabled students through the Disability Services Office. For information, call 303-556-8387 or TTY 303-556-8484.

The University uses two categories for classifying applicants: those who are 19 years old or younger and those who are 20 or older.

Based on the University’s modified open admission system, each category has its own admission requirements and procedures. Complete admission requirements may be found in the currentUniversity Catalog.

Applicants holding temporary visas should fill out the International Student Application for Admission which must be completed instead of this application. The International Student Application details specific requirements applicable to international students.

CLEP: College Level Exam Program

Students at MSU Denver can earn up to 30 credits of general studies and up to 60 credits through CLEP. Each test is $80 (paid to CLEP), which students will pay for when they register through our office. In addition, we will be charging an administrative fee of $25 (waived for active duty military per CLEP policy), paid when the student arrives at their testing time. CLEP testing for veterans (on the GI Bill) is currently paid for by the GI Bill. For more information, contact the Office of Testing Services.

Scholarships

Most School of Hospitality Scholarships can be earned through the MSU DenverScholarship Office. You will also need to fill out your up to dateFAFSA.These two items are often required before you can apply for any School of Hospitalityscholarship. Any additional scholarships that require a unique application outside of the MSU Denver Scholarship Office, will be listed below.

HTE Class schedules are available online. To obtain information regarding class schedules at MSU Denver access the Metropolitan State University of Denver’s onlineClass Schedule, click here.

To determine when you are able to register for classes, follow these simple instructions:

  • Visit the Student Hub atwww.msudenver.edu/studenthub.
  • Click on “Register.”
  • Log in using your NetID (the part of your University email address before the “@.”
  • Click on the “My Services/Registration” tab.
  • Click on the My Services/Registration” link.
  • Click on the first link, “Registration, Student Financial Services, Health Insurance Compliance, Student Records & Financial Aid Menu.”
  • Click on the second link, “Registration.”
  • This opens the Registration Menu. Click on the link for “Registration Permit – Date & Time.”
  • From the drop down menu, select the term you are inquiring about. The next page will tell you the exact date and time you can start registering for classes.

Directions to Waitlist:

Once a class is full, the only tool we use to gauge whether or not to add an additional section of the class is by looking at the waitlist. Once there are enough students on the waitlist, we will do everything we can to open more sections. If the class you want is already full, add yourself to the waitlist:

  • Visit the Student Hub atwww.msudenver.edu/studenthub.
  • Click on “Register.”
  • Log in using your NetID (the part of your University email address before the “@.”
  • Click on “My Services/Registration” tab
  • Click on “My Services/Registration” link in middle of page – a new tab, or window, should open
  • Click on “Registration, Student Financial Services, Health Insurance Compliance, Student Records & Financial Aid Menu.” link
  • Click on link for “Registration”
  • Click on “Add/Drop/Waitlist Classes” link
  • Select term from the drop down box, click “Submit”
  • Add CRN numbers for classes, choose Wait List and click “Submit.”

Once you are on the waitlist, be sure to keep a close eye on your e-mail account. You will be notified via e-mail when a spot opens up for you and you will have 48 hours* to register for the class. If you do not register within those 48 hours, you will be dropped from the waitlist.

*This drops to 24 hours during the last week before classes start.
